This move is designed to provide you, the member, with an easier and more user-friendly membership experience and refresh the features and benefits of your membership platform.
The transition to a new membership platform and website design is part of a project being carried out at EMD UK to replace an ageing technology stack, which has been in place for over a decade and is no longer fit for purpose.
Following user testimonials and anecdotal feedback from you about the current technology offering, we have chosen to pursue this upgrade to provide a better service for our members.
Why are we moving to Sport:80 and updating our website?
From the week commencing Monday 27th April, you will be able to access a user-friendly and streamlined dashboard, where you’ll be able to view every aspect of your membership including:
You will also be able to set up automatic renewals for your paid membership so you never need to worry about forgetting a renewal.
IMPORTANT: Access to the current membership platform will be closed from Thursday 23rd April to Sunday 26th April to ensure a smooth data transition. During this time, you will not be able to renew or upgrade your membership online.
If your membership renewal date falls between the 23rd and 26th April, you should have already been contacted by our team. If your renewal date falls after Monday 27th April, you will be able to renew your membership on the new platform when it goes live.
How will this change how I manage my membership?
You will now be able to manage your own membership via the Sport:80 Membership Portal.
Payment for EMD UK memberships will be made directly through the Member Portal, and you can set up automatic renewals for either Pro or Pro Enhanced memberships to make the process easy next year.
There will be no change to the current membership costs during this process. Pro membership will still only cost £30 per year for access to our full instructor resource library, professional recognition, discounts, offers and more. Pro Enhanced membership will still start at £51 per year and offer a range of insurance benefits alongside tailored Pro Enhanced resources, IAP support with Wisdom Health, and additional support and guidance from EMD UK.
The only change to our membership offering is the re-naming of our Free Membership to Community Membership to more accurately represent what it offers. The Community Membership will still offer limited access to the instructor resource library, providing access to beginner class content, Reach Up core resources, templates and safeguarding information, and will also still receive access to the EMD UK Marketplace where you can take advantage of discounts and offers from our partners.
More instructions on how to access your membership will be shared with you via email in the coming weeks.
To support this new platform, we also realised that our current website was no longer fit for purpose.
The new website, which will be launched at the same time as the new membership platform will provide you with a clearer member experience across our website to help you find exactly what you need to support your career as a group exercise instructor.
The updated website will also support organisations within the group exercise sector with a streamlined user journey to explore partnership opportunities and advice and support from your national governing body.

What does Sport:80 look like?
Sport:80 is an intuitive and easy to use sports business management solution. It will operate as your home for everything relating to your EMD UK membership.
We have created a playlist of walkthrough videos to show you how you log into your membership account for the first time, what it will look like when you access the platform, and where you can find all the most important aspects of your membership.
What’s next?
Our EMD UK Sport:80 membership platform will be going live on the week commencing Monday 27th April. You do not need to do anything to retain your membership; your details will be automatically transferred over to the new platform.
When the platform goes live, you will receive an email from noreply@sport80.com confirming that your account has been set up in the system, and you will be able to access it through a link to set up your new password for the platform. It will look like this:
When you do log in for the first time, you will be required to re-confirm your acknowledgement of the EMD UK privacy policy and provide your preferences for marketing and service communications.
You will also be prompted to review and update your personal details attached to your membership, including your name, address, contact details and be given the opportunity to provide additional equality and diversity information.
If you hold a Pro or Pro Enhanced membership with EMD UK and you would like to set up automatic renewals for your membership, you will need to provide your payment details on the new platform to set up the process.
EMD UK Membership Platform FAQs
How do I access the EMD UK membership platform?
You can login to Sport:80 by selecting the ‘Log In’ button from the top right of the EMD UK website home page.
If you are not currently a member, the ‘Join Now’ button will allow you to choose an EMD UK membership tier and set up an account in the platform.
Can I still contact EMD UK via telephone and email?
Yes, the EMD UK team is still happy to provide support or answers to any questions. Simply submit your question or request through the contact us form here.
What should I do if I forget my password?
Simply click the “Forgot Password” link below the log in fields. The platform will issue an email with instructions to reset your password.
Can I access the membership platform on my phone or do I need to access it via desktop?
The EMD UK membership platform is optimised to work across all devices, so you can manage your membership easily on any type of device.
How do I join the EMD UK membership using the new membership platform?
When you enter the platform, you will be prompted to select a membership tier from the three options available with EMD UK: Community, Pro and Pro Enhanced. The platform will guide you through the steps to sign up for the membership tier, creating an account at the same time.
If you are applying for a Pro or Pro Enhanced membership, you will need to upload certificates to show your qualifications to be eligible for that tier of membership. The Membership FAQs will provide details on the accepted qualifications.
What happens if I need to make a change to my profile?
You can easily access your profile from the home dashboard in the membership platform and can update any of your details there.
If you would like to change further details of your membership e.g. your membership type or set up automatic renewals, details of those can be found in our walkthrough guides.
What file formats will be accepted for uploading documents into the platform?
To make things as easy as possible, the platform supports a wide range of popular file types, including PDFs, JPEGs, JPGs, and PNGs. Plus, you can upload files up to 20MB in size.
Will I be required to upload a picture for my membership card?
Uploading a picture for your membership card is currently optional.
Will the platform provide notifications or reminders regarding membership renewal deadlines?
Yes, we will send notification reminders to you when your renewal date is approaching.
What happens to my current membership number, will I receive a new number?
Yes, you will receive a new membership number on the new membership platform and, if you are a Pro or Pro Enhanced member, you will also be able to download a new membership certificate to showcase your professional recognition and insurance certificate.
What is an EMD UK digital membership card?
The EMD UK digital membership card is a new addition to our membership platform, thanks to Sport:80. It is a digital representation of your membership including your membership number, your current membership status and your name. You will be able to add this digital card to your Apple or Google Wallet to keep it accessible at all times.
How do I access my EMD UK digital membership card on the platform?
You will be able to access your membership card by logging into the EMD UK membership platform on your mobile device and navigating to your Memberships section. From there, click the three dots at the end of your active membership and if you have a digital membership card, options will appear to add it to your digital wallet.
Is there an option to have my EMD UK digital membership card within my ‘digital wallet’ on my mobile device?
Yes, you will be able to download your membership card and add to the ‘Wallet’ using the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet functions on your device.
What happens to my information stored in the old platform?
Your information has been securely transferred onto the new platform, in line with our current GDPR protocol.
Can I opt-out of receiving updates or communications from Sport:80?
You can manage your communication preferences directly within the platform in your profile.
Will I still have access to the member benefits associated with my membership?
Yes, all your membership benefits will still be accessible through our instructor resource library, website and membership platform. If you are a Pro or Pro Enhanced member, you will be able to buy your PPL credits through the new membership platform. You can watch a walkthrough video on how to do that here.
How do I renew my membership?
Log into your account. You'll see your name and email address right in the middle of the dashboard.
To view your membership details such as your phone number, mailing address, etc., click the button that says, "View Profile." The button is located directly below your name and email address.
To renew a membership, click the "View" button on your membership profile card, beside the text indicating your membership expiration date.
If your membership is lapsed, you'll be immediately directed to a screen which allows you to choose a different membership tier if you wish, as well as update any address or contact information.
To ensure your membership doesn't lapse again, enable the "Auto Renewal" option and double check that your information is still correct before renewing.
